This post will have drama
So, where in the world is Carmen San Diego Cassy Myers? Right here in good ‘ole Seattle Washington. Am I excited to be back? At the risk of disappointing many people in my life that I cherish, love and covet, I’m going to go ahead and tell you the God’s honest truth: Hell No.
Since moving back from Hawaii, I’ve been anything but stagnant. Although I’ve been primarily saving my funds for a year-long excursion in Central and South America in the spring time, I’ve made multiple trips down the West Coast, exploring the neighboring states of California and Oregon. This summer has been about exploring my homeland, while preparing myself for a larger opportunity later this year. It’s also been a summer that I’ve spent learning that I would rather be exploring somewhere exotic:
But then again, wouldn’t we all?
So I’m going to suck it up and quit sounding like the spoiled-rotten, privileged white girl that I am, and tell you more about Seattle….but only after a little venting.
I’ll be here another 2 months, before its off to Thailand and SEA (South East Asia), and boy have I been struggling. I don’t normally open up and tell my readers about my personal drama (let’s all be frank and admit that you didn’t come here to read about ME ME ME), but every once in awhile I sure love to vent. Here it is, folks:
Skip down to avoid drama
Drama Alert: America isn’t cool. You will never see me in American-flag-inspired-apparel, or sporting a hat that says “Make America Great Again”, or any other patriotic bullshittery. You will (and have) see me writing about nature and our national parks a lot. Why? Because there are some amazing places to see and visit here, and because I’m totally sick of the political climate, and the resulting aggression and anger that I try to ignore as best as I can.
Drama Alert: Because I’m ready to rid of the gag-worthy mainstream media I see on a daily basis here….so I write about whatever positives I can find. In case you’ve missed some of them:
- Awesome things to see on a West-Coast Road Trip
- Fantastic Hikes in Washington
- More places to get “wicked views” in Washington
Drama Alert: Because I’ve had to face “friends” that have attempted to sleep with my boyfriend. And not just one, folks. I’m not sure how I managed to fill my life with so many snakes, but I’ve certainly made some terrible decisions on friendships. One of those girls even traveled with me. See you next Tuesday. (See what I did there?)
And Back to Your regularly scheduled programming:
In the past 3 months, I’ve been on one Road trip to Southern California with my dear sister.
I’ve traveled down to San Diego to visit (new)friends and explore the city:
I’ve hiked all over Washington:
I’ve explored Seattle’s best food spots:
And here’s the best part:
I’ve finally completed my plans for my September Road-trip!
Seattle Trip on Roadtrippers
It’s been a whirlwind of a summer, but I’ve made it through. Apart from all the local traveling I’ve completed, I did get published in GoOverseas.com! I’m also pushing publications over more websites, so expect to see a lot more of me online, everyone.
You can’t get rid of me yet.
Cheers,
Cassy
